Glossary Of Terms
Tubing with multiple holes (lumens) through which different tasks can be accomplished; for example, delivery and withdrawal of fluids, steering a catheter with a wire, grasping tissue for a biopsy or allowing doctors to monitor progress using a fiber optic line during surgical procedures.

Microspec's ability to extrude advanced medical tubing with complex shapes and many lumens makes it possible to accomplish more in a single device. Within one tube, the lumens may vary in shape, size, number, symmetry, shaft diameter, durometer hardness, wall thickness and web thickness, among other physical attributes.
